Tim Brennan - Monograph
Tim Brennan has worked in a variety of forms, including video, photography, performance, installation and, more recently, has produced a number of 'walk-works'. Brennan is concerned with time and space, historiography, archiving, permanence and impermanence, the politics of (re-)production, the dynamics of art and the quotidian. Published as a result of an Arts Council initiative to archive time-based practices and performance works, this book includes a major essay by Janet Hand (Goldsmiths College) which analyses the 'walk-works' and Brennan's role as 'guide' in a mode that she terms 'affirmative critique'. Brennan punctuates the essay with photographs from both his ‘walk-works’ and those made specifically by Paul Maven for the publication. Edited by John Gange.
